Philanthropy Month 2016
Philanthropy Month is a time of year when we at Missouri S&T celebrate the support of our alumni, students, friends and family. We take this month to show our current students and community members the impact of donor support all over campus. Whether it's tags marking the location of donor support, handing out T-shirts and gift cards to students or competing in our annual alumni/student Battle of the Brains trivia contest, the message is still the same – philanthropy matters, and our great school would not be what it is today without it.
This year's Philanthropy Month donations will support our Spirit of Change–Random Acts of Kindness initiative, which directly impacts the lives of our students everyday. Here are just a few examples:
- Textbook scholarships
- Free umbrellas during rainy days
- Free coffee at the Student Success Center
- Paying parking meters for a day
- Larger acts when it is needed. Examples in the past have included:
- Helping fund students whose apartment burned down
- Helping support a student who was in a car accident
We hope through supporting Random Acts of Kindness, students see the tangible impact philanthropy can make on their lives along with their fellow classmates and community members.
Student donations of $5 or more will be matched by University Advancement.
We'd like you to take this month to reflect on past, current and future philanthropy at Missouri S&T and see how this support has affected you. We will have events during every weekday throughout the month, culminating with our end of the month gathering at Hasselmann Alumni House.
As a current or future Miner, we hope you know the impact of your support.
Please enjoy all of our events during Philanthropy Month and give back what you can. Any support makes a difference, regardless of size.
*If you have questions about your donation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
**When selecting a perk, please make sure to change the amount of your donation to match the selected amount. The default designation of $25 will not automatically change for you. Selecting a student or alumni perk will count towards our month totals and help determine the winner of the contest!
